PLACE A BID

YOU MAY PLACE YOUR BID IN THE FOLLOWING WAY:

Each person bidding in the auction room will receive a unique bidding number from OstLicht Photo Auction. If you are already a customer, you will receive your bid paddle without having to preregister. New bidders are required to submit a written application, which may be handed in at our front desk at OstLicht Gallery until shortly before the auction begins. In the room, we can only accept bids placed with a valid bidding number.

Regard your online bid as the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item at hand. If there are no other bids, you will get the lot for the starting price. If there are lower bids than yours, your order will move to the top, and your bid will be accepted at 10 % more than the next highest bid. We are unable to accept bids under the starting (reserve) price. If you bid on our site the buyer's premium is 20% (excluding VAT). When bidding on one of the other platforms (liveauctioneers.com, on invaluable.com or on druoutonline.com) additional costs will be charged depending on the platform.

If you wish to bid at auction in real time but are unable to attend in person, we are happy to establish a telephone connection. You may use our bid form both for your written bids and your registration as a telephone bidder.

You may register as a telephone bidder by e-mail (info@ostlicht-auction.com) or letter. In due time—that is, before the lots you have selected are put up for auction—we will establish a telephone connection with you. This way, you can directly participate in the auction.

Orders for telephone bids must be submitted until at least 24 hours before the auction begins. Please be advised that OstLicht Photo Auction cannot assume liability for potential failure to successfully establish a telephone connection.

If you wish to send us your bids in writing, please download our bid form, fill it out and return it to us either by e-mail (info@ostlicht-auction.com) or mail.

In general, the terms and conditions for online bids also apply to written bids. OstLicht Photo Auction will bid on the lots you have listed on your behalf.

Regard your written offer as the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the lot. If there are no other bids, you will get the lot for the starting price. If there are lower bids than yours, your order will move to the top, and your bid will be accepted at 10 % more than the next-highest bid. We are unable to accept bids under the starting (reserve) price.

To bid live via the internet, please register for the respective auction on liveauctioneers.com, on invaluable.com or on druoutonline.com. Follow the auction without delay! You will find our complete offer with English descriptions on these websites approximately three weeks before the auction. Additional costs will be charged depending on the platform.

We wish to inform you that a significant portion of the images showcased in this auction comprises photographs aged between 30 to 120 years old. It's important to recognize that subtle changes in image tonality, yellowing of the paper, and other natural alterations can occur over time. Additionally, minor handling marks such as small corner and edge damages are to be expected as part of the aging process. Please note that original retouching and other treatments applied during production are integral to the object's historical context, rather than being considered damage or restoration. If you have any inquiries about the condition of specific lots, we warmly encourage you to contact us at least 48 hours prior to the auction commencement, and we will be pleased to provide you with a condition report.
